Experience In-N-Out in Korea | Cry Cheese Burger 크라이치즈버거 Gangnam

vibes

The exterior of Cry Cheese is quite elaborate, complete with a massive cry cheese logo on one side and a  image of a Cry Double Cheeseburger at the entrance, with lots of  super-saturated yellow. The interior was bleh. It embodies one of my pet peeves: restaurants with white furniture that don't look 100% sterile. If you commit to white,  keep it white! I hope I'm not alone in this.

fooods

I ordered Set A with a Cry Cheese Burger, fries, and a soft drink. I chose to pay an extra 1,500 won for the cheese topping (the equivalent of In-N-Out Animal Style). In total it costed 7,300 won, which is remarkably cheap for Seoul.

The burger is good, but it ain't life changing. Compared to In-N-Out it was definitely achieved a similar cheesy taste, but it fell short in terms of texture and quality.

As for the fries, I would definitely recommend giving them a try. In my opinion they are as good, if not better than the real thing.  I am not a fan of is the texture of In-N-Out's fries, so I definitely prefer Cry Cheese's.

I also discovered that they have a secret menu, which  is EXACTLY the same as the In-N-Out menu. It includes protein style, animal style, 4x4 and 3x3 burgers. I wonder, if  this is even allowed.  I can imagine  the owner proposing to open an In-N-Out in Korea, being  rejected and deciding to stick it to the  company by starting a restaurant just like the original. But that's just a theory!

final thots

If you are in a craving some In-n-Out or are looking to try an affordable and  unique cheeseburger, I would definitely recommend giving it a try. I enjoyed the experience and was very satisfied with the price. If I ever come back, it would be for the fries.

pros: amazing price point, especially for Seoul, in-n-out replica for those out-of-State cravings

cons: lowkey icky interior

what i recommend: fries with cheese

find it: 996-17 Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Samseong station Exit 1, walk straight and you'll see the Cry Cheese sign on your right. Walk past the building and down the stairs
