Burger Places Worth Trying in Seoul 서울에 먹어볼 만한 햄버거 식당

Here are my Top 5 burger places in order (#1 is the best).

5. NY B&B 뉴욕비앤비

A post shared by NYB&B뉴욕비앤비🇺🇸🔛🇰🇷NewYork❤️Seoul (@nybnbco) on

NY B&B is definitely the most expensive burger joint, but has its merits. They claim to use the highest quality of beef and have really unique burgers like "The Wasaaabi???" (shiitake mushroom, wasabi mayo, and pepperjack cheese),  "Kamehameha Dave" (Spam, fried egg, and pineapple), and Candy Bacon Burger (candied bacon, American cheese, BBQ sauce). They also have bottomless sodas,  fries, and a selection of sandwiches if you're in that mood.

price: burgers 9,500-22,000 won | fries 6,500-13,500 won

popular items: The Wasaaabi, Candied Bacon Burger

find it: 30, Teheran-ro 6-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul 06240, South Korea

4. Cry Cheese Burger 키라이치즈버거

Cry Cheese Burger is the famous In-N-Out knock off in Seoul. From affordable prices to "Animal Style" burgers and fries, they replicate In-N-Out to the tee. Depending on whether you're cutting or bulking,  you can upgrade to a 3x3 or 4x4 burger or get your burger Protein Style. In my opinion, In-N-Out is still better, but Cry Cheese will definitely satisfy your cravings while you're in Korea.

price: burgers 3,500-4,200 won | fries 2,000-3,500

popular items: Cheese Potato Fries, Cry Cheese Burger

find it: 996-17 Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul

3. Brooklyn the Burger Joint 브루클린더버거조인트

Brooklyn the Burger takes you on a journey to the past with their vintage-American-diner decor, complete with old graphic posters, cheap wooden walls, white tile booths, and neon lights.  Their 5 oz. smashed beef patties are a bit small, but have a nice salty taste and crisp texture. They also have a 7 oz. hand-formed option for their burgers. I will say that the fries are definitely overpriced, but are larger in portion.

price: burgers 7,500-12,500 won | fries 6,000-10,500 | shakes 5,500-6,500

popular items: C.R.E.A.M. Burger, Brooklyn Works, Chili Fries

find it: 12 Dosan-daero 15-gil, Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul

2. Shake Shack 쉑쉑버거

I am a hardcore fan of Shake Shack. This is the place to have a gourmet smash burger and amazing shakes. They also are known for their concretes, which are different flavors of thick custard blended at a high speed. The Shake Shack restaurants all have concrete and shake flavors that are unique to Korea (e.g. Red Bean Shake) and unique to each location (Cheongdam327, Gangnam, and Dondamun Rainbow).

price: burgers 6,900-12,400 won | fries 3,900-4,900 | shakes and concretes 4,900-8,900

popular items: Shack Stack, 'Shroom Burger, Chick'n Shack, Cheese Fries, Concretes

find it: https://www.shakeshack.com/locations/

1. Downtowner 다운타운어

Downtowner is my new favorite burger joint. Their burgers have an amazing texture that I've never experienced before. I wish I could explain it, but the flavor is inexplicable. The buns are insanely soft but slightly chewy. The beef patty is dare I say, MOIST?! in the best way. They also come in clutch with Jarritos sodas, which make for the perfect accompaniment to the burgers.  Currently dreaming of the day I can enjoy one of those heavenly burgers again.

price: burgers 6,8000-11,800 won | fries 4,300-6,800

popular items: Avocado Burger, Bacon Cheese Fries

find it: 28-4 Itaewon-ro 42-gil, Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul

20 Dosan-daero 51-gil, Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul
