Unique Dessert Places to Visit in Seoul

Thanks to the national obsession with cafes and convenience stores, dessert is plentiful in Seoul. You can find amazing ice creams for a dollar at a convenience store on every block or find a sweet coffee drink and cake at one of the bajillion coffee chains in Seoul. However, if you’re in the mood for unique confections, you gotta look a little harder. Here are a few of my favorite dessert places in Seoul that serve delicious treats that aren’t as common.

1. Remicone

Wandering through the streets off Garosugil, you might notice a shop that looks like a the side of a white ice cream truck/chemistry lab. Remicone makes amazing ice cream combinations including fun topping like popping candy, cotton candy, cacao nibs, and fleur de sel. They often have seasonal specials like this Blossom Bomb, which includes popping candy, mint cotton candy, and vanilla ice cream.

find it: 547-12, Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul

2. Tarr Tarr

Tarr Tarr is the heaven of all things tart. You'd be surprised with how much variety they have, and how beautiful every single tart is. I’d suggest a fruit tart because the berry was AMAZING.  The cheese was cute, but didn’t taste that great.

find it: multiple locations including 412-31 Hapjeong-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul and 29 Sincheon-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul (pictured above)

3. Quiche Mignon 퀴시미뇽

This shop has an astounding selection of quiches both savory and sweet. If you walk from Hapjeong Station towards Hongdae, you will definitely notice the store front and it’s impressive quiche display. You'll find yourself wanting to try all the flavors, so bring a few friends along. I came alone so I controlled myself with just two, both of which tasted amazing!

find it: 394-16 Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul

4. Cafe Bora

Cafe Bora is an iconic patbingsu located in a tiny alley somewhere in Insadong. They serve the most aesthetic bingsus I have ever seen. Matcha and Purple Sweet Potato are their main flavors. They even opened a location in Los Angeles, but you gotta come to the Seoul location for the authentic Korean antique vibes!

5. Sarr Pancake

You know the fad. Thicc, fluffy, bouncy pancakes that became all the fame in Japan. Sarr serves beautiful pancakes and amazing interior design. Not only are the pancakes cakey and delicious, but also are paired with amazing accompaniments that are plated gorgeously. Don’t get me wrong, 12,000 for two pancakes is not cheap, but these pancakes are irresistible! It is an experience to be had. Share it with a friend because it’s a really rich dish for just one person.

find it: 30, Hongik-ro 5-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul

6. Frederic Bakery

I don’t know what genius is behind this combination, but I’m all for it. Hard Lattes (ice cream+latte) are one of the greatest things to exist on this planet (alongside donut lattes of course). Frederic is famous for their hard lattes, which are served with popsicles instead of normal ice cream. They serve an Original, Choco and Matcha Hard Latte along with beautiful mouses, cakes, and pastries. Futuristic interior is a plus.

find it: 137 Ogeum-ro, Songpa-gu, Jamsil-dong, Seoul
